About the Exhibition

From Italy to Sweden, from Romania to Portugal: In recent months, portraits of nearly 100 victims of child abuse have been collected throughout Europe. Never has the dimension of the problem been captured in this way. Photos and videos from award-winning journalist Simone Padovani documenting the injustices now give the victims a voice. The exhibition «Shame – European Stories» is a traveling exhibition and will be on show in several different countries in Europe.

“SHAME” at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg

The Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Pejčinović Burić opened the photo exhibition “SHAME – European Stories” at the Council of Europe in October. Just after the opening a hearing on the topic of child abuse in Europe took place at the Council in Strasbourg. This motion demands a reappraisal of the abuse cases and forms of reparation in the member states of the Council of Europe. The exhibition by the Guido Fluri Foundation portrays victims of child abuse from 20 European countries and aims to raise awareness within politics.

Looking Back: The Venice Exhibition
