Mark-Vincent Healy, Ireland, 2018
Mark-Vincent Healy, is a survivor and victims’ advocate who is calling for a much needed study in Ireland and elsewhere. He was abused by two priests in his time in school in Dublin.
He was the first male survivor of Irish clerical sex abuse to meet with Pope Francis in 2018: Healy believes the Vatican is on an “inescapable trajectory.”
Healy hopes to provide as much information as possible on the very complex and harrowing subject of child sexual abuse in the hope of assisting fellow survivors to obtain the appropriate services and supports which ought to be available as a basic human right.
